Originally based out of North Vancouver, Blue Ice Construction became incorporated in 1985. After four years of building on the North Shore, numerous opporunities to build in Whistler presented themselves. The prospect of building beautiful, challenging custom homes in one of the premier recreational areas of the world, prompted a move to permanently relocate the company to Whistler.
Blue Ice has now completed over 200 construction projects in Whistler and is on the leading edge of the building and renovating of custom recreational homes. We provide the tools, the experience, and the contacts required in building or renovating a home from start to finish. Our projects vary from one-room additions to multi-million dollar state of the art homes. We are a licensed builder offering a complete 2-5-10year home warranty package from the premier warranty carrier in the country.

The Owner - Dave
Dave Johnston started out in the construction industry framing homes each summer as he worked his way through university. He became a journeyman carpenter and started his own construction company a few years after graduating from UBC.
In 1988 Dave went back to school and graduated with a Special Certificate in Construction Management from B.C.I.T. and shortly after relocated his company and family to Whistler. Organized in his work, recognized for his knowledge, Dave Johnston is well respected in the valley for combining his construction expertise with the Whistler lifestyle.
